Take Both Sides of The Story – EP 43

Question of the week

Thinking about dropping out of school but can’t make my mind up on what to do… anyone got advice for me? I’m 15

Well, my question to you would be how hard do you want your life to be? If you cant show yourself that you can press through the difficulty of school then you will have a bigger chance of not succeeding later in life. Now that isn’t always the case maybe this inspires you to prove me wrong and that is possible, but most of the time the average high school dropout makes less than 30k a year. You will basically be setting yourself up for a hard life where you are just running around trying to find ways to keep yourself comfortable.

Stay in school yeah it sucks but the reward of learning all that stuff you really don’t need is that you have proven to yourself that you are able to power through the suck and you are able to take on the world.

Main Topic

Why are both sides of the story important? often we spend way too much time thinking about what people should do instead of understanding where they are coming from. We focus on how we can control the situation instead of understanding and connect with other people.

We write scripts in our heads all the time. We think of how something should be done and rarely get the other side of the story. We make a crappy first draft and then leave it at that. Instead of revising our script to allow for the whole person to show up.
