Who Has Privilege?

There is so much talk about privilege yet they are saying the privilege is based on your skin color. Yet is that really the case? This week’s video is from PragerU and yeah they can be a bit divisive if you are on the other side of the aisle Adam Corolla talks about what privilege is and where society is getting it wrong.

Adam starts out talking about the scenario and he describes parents divorced and the kid is dumpster diving and all that goes with that. That kid wasn’t black as many people would like to assume. If you really put some thought into it you would notice that jumping to the kid’s race is actually racist. The kid was Adam.

Adam actually points out that the real white privilege is knowing that nobody cares about you. You have to do the work to get anywhere in life. That is the real white privilege. Except that can easily be black privilege too. Police are stopping you because of one of two things you either broke a traffic law or the police officer is a jerk. Yeah, there are police who use their position to pump their own egos up. That’s just a human being human.

Adam then breaks it down that the privilege that is being touted is not an item of privilege at all. It is just knowing that people can be jerks it’s not actually racially motivated. It is jerk motivated. The privilege that many people are touting is the privilege of what you have earned. You have worked your whole life to get where you are. If it is in a mansion great! if it is because you are still on the poor side of town because nobody will give you a break? That is on you. Nobody is going to give you a break. You have to do the work to earn the privilege of “Making it”
