The Importance Of Dad’s

This week we are talking about how men see themselves and two big ramifications of that, Men’s mental health issues, and divorce. Both are huge problems that hold men back.

So when you think of the different men in your life what do you think of? These important men in your life, how do you see them? Do you see the men in your family as one particular group, or are they each their own being that has a smattering of other attributes scattered throughout? Do you see the men in your family as being important?

Society wants you to forget them. According to society, they are pains and nothing but sources of strife. Society wants to point all its pain and suffering onto the heads of men, and on the heads of white men even more. This has created an identity crisis for men.

This is what got me into talking about the virtues of men those 4 years ago. I have wanted to point out how without men there would be no women. How without men many of the advances wouldn’t have happened. Men are important to the world. The boys that are growing up in today’s society need the power of masculinity now more than ever.

Men have been told that they need to open up and talk about their vulnerability and share their feelings. Yet when they have done so they have been called tiresome and juvenile by the very women that claim they don’t open up enough.

We are throwing all these confusing signals toward the young men looking for a direction. Yet we wonder why so many of them are coming out gender confused and not sure who they are. The interesting thing is you don’t know who you are till sometime after you are 26. And then that is just when you start on the trail of looking for yourself.

This week’s video is by Fraser Smith. Watch and see what his thoughts are about the Male Identity crisis.
