It is time to start getting some reviews flowing for the Relaxed Male. The First review I want to do is for the Tripod I use for my walk and Talks. That is the Xit XT6TR. This is a camera tripod that pulls double duty. because it transforms into a pistol grip for your camera.
Now the Versatility is low. and that is because you can only do two things and you can do them well with the XT6TR. You can hold the camera comfortably and set it on a surface. That’s about it. but it does the job well.
The Top plate though plastic, holds my camcorder just fine and is solid. The mounting screw is metal so you don’t have to worry about it stripping out and dropping your beloved camera.
The feet have rubber pads on them so that if you place the tripod on the hood of a car it isn’t going to scratch the hood nor is it going to slide off.
Place for a lanyard clip so nothing will be smashed if it is dropped.
Very handy to have in your arsenal when you are walking and recording video. If the need to set the camera down comes about then you don’t have to try to prop the camera up against a rock.
It is comfortable to hold. The legs shift a little when holding but it could also be how I hold the tripod when in pistol grip mode.
The plastic that split apart to become legs on the handles flexes a little too much. It adds to the feeling that there was corner cut.
The feel of the XT6TR is going to be thought of as “cheap” Im not seeing that it so much. Yet it is made with an injection mold, so it will have that cheap plastic feel. I have dropped my tripod a few times (Without a camera) and it
The mount has a ratcheting sound when you raise it. I am sure it is on purpose but make it feel like if you keep doing it that the teeth will eventually wear out.
I would recommend this for anybody who is wanting to do video’s on youtube or attach a phone mount and do a live stream walk and talk. This is one of the best Christmas gifts I have received besides my camcorder.
